17 Day Itinerary: Laos Vietnam Cambodia Luxury Tour from Italy
Day 01: Fly to Luang Prabang
Flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our guide and transfer to hotel to check in. Rest of the day is free at your own leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 02: Luang Prabang City Tour
Alms Giving Ceremony: An optional early start at 05.30am gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. Return to hotel for having breakfast. After that, 8.30 we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.
We then visit the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene, continue to National Museum at the former Royal Palace displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. Our last stop is Wat Mai before climbing up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by the hill tribe and local people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Excursion to Pak Ou Cave
After breakfast, 9.00AM transfer to Mekong river to board a cruise; the upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is distilled. Overnight in Luang Prabang
Day 04: Khouang Si waterfall
After breakfast 9.00AM you will visit the morning Phosi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Laoloum Village and Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. We return to the city by late afternoon. Overnight in Luang Prabang
Day 05: Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam
6.45AM transfer to the airport for a short flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport and then escort you to your hotel for check-in. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 06: Hanoi City Tour – Night train to Lao Cai
Our guide will pick you up at hotel at & start a sightseeing today includes explore Vietnam’s charming capital. With its wide tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and ancient oriental pagodas, start a Hanoi’s key sites: the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – outside and stilt house), the nearby One Pillar Pagoda; the Temple of Literature; West Lake including the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda; and one of the city’s museums: the History Museum. End the day’s explorations enjoy a traditional water puppet show. Free until 20.30, our driver will transfer you to train station to catch a night train to Lao Cai. Overnight in Private cabin for 2 people.
Day 07: Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat Village
Arrive at Lao Cai railways station at at early morning (around 5-6.00am). Our driver and guide will welcome you take a driver to uphill to the mountainous town of Sapa where the monotony of the expansive green landscape is enlivened by the colours of its hill-tribes. Departure at 9.00AM walk from Sapa downhill along a narrow trail for an hour through fruit garden and vegetable farms to the southern end of Cat Cat village ( from 1,486m to 1,288m). Then follow the steps down to Muong Hoa River, enjoy a short rest near Cat cat waterfall (1,212m). Continue to enjoy spectacular views of rice terraced mountains, and see local people dressed in colourful costumes walking along the roadside and return Sapa through the local market. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight in Sapa
Day 08: Lao Chai – Ta Van village – Shuttle bus back to Hanoi
After breakfast at hotel, drive south into the Muong Hoa Valley, home to the largest terraced rice fields in Vietnam and today we will trek for approx. 2.5 hours through farmlands and rolling hills from Lao Chai village to Ta Van village to explore the life and culture of local ethnics. Return to sapa for free visit local market and free easy in your own way until 15.00, our driver will pick you up at hotel and return Hanoi.
Day 09: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Cruise
After breakfast, our guide driver come to pick you up at then heading to Halong bay – a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty, through picturesque rice-farming villages of the Red River Delta, where we see every day Vietnamese village life. On arrival, we board a beautiful traditional junk and spend a full day and night cruising the bay’s 3000 magnificent limestone islets. In the evening when the boat is anchored in the middle of the stunning lagoon, we enjoy a wonderful seafood meal. Overnight on board.
Day 10: Halong Bay – Hanoi
Wake up early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong. Have brunch on board the boat before returning to Halong pier to get back Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 11: Hanoi – Fly to Da Nang – Hoi An
This morning is free until check out, at 11.30AM our driver will transfer you to airport for flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, you are welcomed at airport by our local driver and transfer to hotel in Hoi An for check in. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 12 & 13: Hoi An
Spend 1 day at your own in beautiful Hot An, free at your own leisure, walking at the ancient town and swimming on the beach, relaxing and shopping by yourself.
On next day ad after breakfast, 9.00am, start cycling through the countryside to the small farming community of Tra Que Vegetable Village. Here you can enjoy the lush green countryside and see the farmers at work, later learn to make Vietnamese spring roll and free on foot massage by herbs. Enjoy a free afternoon back in Hoi An, free at your own to explore the ancient town and shopping. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 14: Hoi An – Da Nang – Fly to Siem Reap in Cambodia
Free until transferred to airport for flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our driver at airport and transfer to hotel for check in. Free & easy in your own way. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 15: Temple touring at Angkor Complex
Beat the crowd early morning for a visit to the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever. And continue to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat – one of the world’s most impressive ruins. The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art.
Lunch at your own, then, in the afternoon, explore the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom & Bayon Its 54-tower temple is an awesome sight. At first glance it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals a face, and then another and another one, until suddenly you are engulfed by the silent, heavy, enigmatic and silent gaze through half-closed eyes, staring out from a primitive and remote time. Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphuon, Elephant Terrace, Lepper King Terrace and Royal Place area.
Day 16: Walking Village – Floating Community
Morning transfer out of the Siem Reap town to a beautiful village in the countryside, you will start to walk through the village houses, witnessing very nice and different activities from the locals for their daily life. Just as some examples: how the locals wash vehicles, selling gasoline in whiskey bottles or the small shops where the locals sell food on the side of small streets.
Enjoy a view of this wonderful area and interact with very kindly people in the village. Leisurely walk through the rice paddies and see how this family doing daily work such as making rice wine, handicraft works meanwhile a member of the family will offer you a fresh coconut and some homemade rice wine to taste.
Hop in your van for driving onward to the next destination, a floating community, arrive at the quay for embarking on a motorized boat to visit floating houses village offering an incredible natural phenomenon of making their lives from the lake in a respectful and meaningful way. This is a great chance to witness one of Cambodia and the world’s most amazing natural wonders. Drive back to Siem Reap at 03.00 – 04.00PM.

Day 17: Artisan and Angkor National Museum
Artisans d’Angkor focuses on training unschooled rural youth in traditional handicraft skills. Here you can discover traditional Cambodian handicraft skills and observe the artisans at work. Ancient techniques are still practiced here such as wood and stone carving, lacquering, gilding and silk painting. A guided tour will provide you with more insight into this organization and you may direct any questions to one of the artisans through your guide. Meet one of the experts from Artisans d’Angkor who will explain about the overall operations and their goals for the future. You will also learn more about the artisans’ backgrounds and how this training has helped them to get a head start in life. And continue to visit to Angkor National Museum, in November 2007, the Angkor National Museum opened its doors, offering a comprehensive collection of Cambodian artifacts showcasing the origins of Khmer art, culture, and architecture.
With eight galleries in total, it covers in depth the history of Cambodia and the Khmer Empire as well as a fascinating collection of Buddhist artifacts. Apart from the antiques and historical relics, they have successfully integrated state-of-the-art multimedia technology to help bring the exhibitions to life.

Flights from Italy to Vietnam
Travelling to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from Italy, Spain, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia Turkey or Norway and Finland. There must be layover in either Istanbul or Qatar or Dubai, or if you fly from Paris or Germany you may get a direct flight to either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City via Vietnam Airlines. The flight time is vary depending on departure destination.
