Itinerary

The water levels on the Lower Mekong in Cambodia vary seasonally. A low-water period typically happens between mid-November and end-August; the high-water period between end-August and mid-November (periods may alter). Cruise itineraries vary between both periods.

Saigon – Siem ream (Upstream) the coaches will drop you off around 10:00am at Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa.

High water season is approximate from middle of September to the end of December, to which, make the itinerary and the schedule slightly changing, only in Siem Reap

Day 1: Siem Reap

Arrive in Siem Reap, Cambodia’s second-largest city, and settle into the well-appointed hotel, located near the iconic Angkor Wat.

For upstream (SGN-REP) the coaches will drop you off around 10:00am at Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa.
High water season is approximate from middle of September to the end of December.

High water and low water season just make itinerary timing schedule changeable in Siem Reap, there will be no changes at other destinations.

Day 2 & 3: Angkor Wat Temples

Rise early to watch the sunrise over the majestic temples of Angkor Wat. One of the world’s largest religious monuments, is adorned with elaborate bas-reliefs and sculptures.

Ride a tuk-tuk to the walled city of Angkor Thom and tour the Ta Prohm and the temple of Banteay Srei.

Later, enjoy traditional Cambodian music and dance at a beautifully lit private dinner at one of Angkor’s temples.

Day 4: Steung Trang, Embark Cruise

Drive to the small town of Steung Trang and embark The Jahan Mekong Cruise, your riverboat home for the next 7 nights.

Get excited as your cruise vessel sail toward the Mekong and watch life from your balcony.

day 5: Wat Hanchey

At Wat Hanchey, see a variety of Angkorian temples, including an eighth-century temple from the pre-Angkor Chenla period, or see the silk weaving village of Koh Dach.

Continue to the village of Angkor Ban, with its traditional houses and friendly residents.

Day 6: Kampong Chhnang

Proceed to a village where artisans make traditional pottery, and ride local transportation to a farm where palm sugar is harvested and processed by locals.

Here at Kampong Tralach, take an oxcart ride through rice paddies to a local school.

Day 7: Phnom Penh

Today, we will be exploring the capital city of Cambodia.

Explore it by Rickshaw, and visit the Royal Palace and the National Museum of Cambodia. Learn about the upset time during the Khmer Rouge on a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.

This evening, enjoy an Apsara dance performance.

Day 8: Cruising the Mekong

Take in views of everyday life along the Mekong river, attend talks by experts and join the chefs to learn how to cook regional dishes.

Cross the border into Vietnam.

Day 9: Chau Doc, Vietnam

Welcome to Vietnam, in Chau Doc has one of Vietnam’s most interesting markets, with an astonishing variety of tropical fruits, vegetables and other goods.

Continue to a fish farm, where you’ll see fish being fed through trapdoors in the floating platforms. In the afternoon, continue sailing the Mekong.

day 10: Sa Dec / Cai Be

Take a local boat to experience rural life in the Mekong Delta. See the floating market of Cai Be, step into a rice “factory” to watch rice-based candies being made and cruise among floating markets and fish farms. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner aboard The Jahan.

Day 11: My Tho / Disembark Cruise

Disembark in My Tho and visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda, originally built in 1850. Then take a private transfer to Saigon and, on arrival, visit the landmarks of Saigon including a visit to the Bitexco Tower, post office and the Reunification Palace followed by lunch at a local restaurant.

Continue to the Park Hyatt Hotel to check in. Early this evening meet with a local expert on Vietnam’s modern development, and then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 12: Discover Cu Chi Tunnels

This morning, visit the Cu Chi tunnel, part of a huge network of tunnels used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War.

Back to Saigon in the afternoon and if time permits, visit the War Remnants Museum, which gives a strong view of the war through the eyes of the Vietnamese.
