On Ngapali Beach the soothing white sands stretch away into the distance whilst you recline in the shade of a palm tree, a light breeze whispering through casuarina groves as the clear waters wash against the shore. With its thatched houses, bustling market place and cliff top pagodas, this small and wonderfully traditional region is well worth exploring. There are a few four-star resorts here and a small cluster of more simple options, while leisure facilities include a nine-hole golf course, and boat trips around the region’s fishing villages are also available. Reached only by air, this is a beautiful, unspoiled stretch of coast.
